Finding Hygge, Copenhagen

My other half and I are obsessed with all things Scandinavian design, the clean lines, woods, furs, natural textures, and bright and light colours that add warmth to a room. So when we decided to spend a weekend in Copenhagen we knew we needed to find the perfect Airbnb to give us a true Hygge experience. 

We found Dorte's one bedroom flat in Frederiksberg. Dorte is a working artist, and her design apartment was beautifully decorated with light hardwood floors, (faux) animal furs and hides, early 20th Century post-modern furniture including a set of Wegner Wishbone chairs I have been eyeing for my own dining table, an abundance of indoor greenery and nooks filled with knickknacks from Hay. 

Frederiksberg, while a bit of a walk or short cycle to the main attractions was the perfect location for us as we wanted a base to explore Norrebro, Kodbyen, Copenhagen's Meat Packing District, and of course the City Centre and Free Town Christiania. Each borough was perfectly accessible by foot or e-bike.  

Copenhagen was a short (and I think only about £30) flight from London, and with all the homely Airbnbs on offer, the chic city makes for the perfect weekender.
