Lyle's

One of our favourite Supper-Clubbers-cum-restaurateur-extraordinaire, James Lowe of Young Turks (Upstairs at the Ten Bells and Clove Club) brings with him a stellar group of friends; John Ogier (St John), Jyo Karam and Sunaina Sethi (Gymkhana, Bubbledogs, Trishna) to open a new restaurant in a former gallery space in Shoreditch, Lyle's.

The restaurant, which takes its name from James' grandmother offers a list of 12 dishes at lunch and a set menu at dinner that changes daily. All produce is sourced from James’ network of farmers and suppliers he has developed over the last eight years. The menu is British, pared-back, unpretentious and driven by a common sense kind of mentality, featuring dishes such as: Jersey Royals, Seaweed and Duck Egg; Aged Dover Sole, Monk's Beard and Anchovy; Ox Liver, Damson and Pickled Elderberry.

There is also a daily offering of items made in-house including bread, charcuterie, butter, preserves and pickles. A rotating house coffee is supplied by people including Koppi from Sweden and London’s Square Mile, all available for take-out alongside baked goods in the morning. The wine list offer a small selection with low mark ups regularly adapting to the menus and seasons.
